Hi all
I have a 2007 Specialized Stumpjumper Comp with a Fox Triad rear shock. The Triad broke and I sent it off for repair only to be told that it will cost £120+ to repair. Having looked on CRC it seems I may be able to buy a better shock for £60 more anyway so I am thinking of doing this instead of having the triad repaired. The problem is that I do not know what size the triad is and it is currently in the workshop - does anyone know what size it would be and therefore what size my replacement needs to be? Also is there anything else I need to buy or know before fitting a shock from CRC (I'm looking at all the sub £200 ones they have hoping that they have the right size once I know what that is). Thank you

Jun 17, 2012 Hi All, I just recently bought a 2012 stumpjumper fsr comp 29er, however I noticed that the rear shock Custom Fox Triad II with AUTOSAG, custom on-the-fly 3-position compression switch 1) Lock out 2) Open 3) ProPedal, when I turn the switch to LOCK OUT, the switch becomes very loose and it seems there is no 'grip' on it. REAR SHOCK: Custom Fox Triad II with AUTOSAG, custom on-the-fly 3-position compression switch 1) Lock out 2) Open 3) ProPedal, rebound adj., 197x51mm: FORK: Fox Evolution F140 RL, air spring, tapered steerer, LO and reb adj., standard drop-outs, 140mm.

- Spech tend to list the sizes on their webby. or ask Mojo what size it is
you will also need the correct fitting kit for the shock and the bike.'Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail.'
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown - Thanks, will I be able to use the fitting kit from the triad? Unfortunately I have not been able to find the answer on the specialized site so will have to wait till Tuesday to call the workshop
- I have found out that it measures 184.2mm eye to eye with 44.5mm stroke. The problem is that I can only seem to find shocks for sale which are 190mm x 50mm - would this be a problem?
- yes as it's not the correct size, trouble with shocks on some specialized is they are an odd size (as you've found out!)
- ok, so I managed to source an RP23 from the US in the right size now how do I know what size bushing kit to buy? the frame is a 2007 stumpjumper comp and the shock is a Fox RP23. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Parktools - My Stumpjumper Comp is the same year as yours OP and also came with a Triad rear shock as standard. I think these do eventually fail as it happened to the previous owner of my bike and he also had to replace with an RP23 which I have been running with no issues for a couple of years.
